Battered Women’s Support Services (BWSS) is a feminist voice against violence and oppression. BWSS is a strong, dynamic organization that provides support and advocacy for women who have experienced abuse, as well as community education and training about violence against women. Part of a global feminist anti-violence movement, our long-term goal is the elimination of all violence against women and girls.

CHAPEL SOUND is a multidisciplinary electronic art & music collective formed in 2012. Chapel Sound's mandate is to push creative expression forward without artistic boundaries or prejudice. Chapel Sound is devoted to offering platforms (online and through working with local venues) for local emerging artists to experiment in the field of multidisciplinary electronic art and music regardless of a person’s race, class, gender or orientation. Bringing people together through events, workshops, collaborations and cross-pollination with other local crews has plays an important role for Chapel Sound in realizing this ambition.

EMILY CARR UNIVERSITY OF ARTS + DESIGN - New Media + Sound Arts Program New Media + Sound Arts (NMSA) is a new program at Emily Carr University of Art + Design that explores relationships between technology and sound, visuals, time-based media, and electronic systems, offering ways to artistically engage with technologies through critical and generative lenses that move beyond the prescriptive systems of today’s technocultures. In NMSA, we create new musical instruments, multimedia installations, live audiovisual performances, music production, interactive objects and wearables, new sonic ecologies, electronic textiles, and interactive sculptures. NMSA emphasizes processes of working with electronic technologies and cultivates interest in how these new tools continually shape, and are shaped by, cultures.

FIELD CONTEMPORARY GALLERY Founded in 2013 by Daniel Jefferies, Brandon Cotter, and Avalon Mott, FIELD was conceived as a space to promote critical artistic thinking and understanding. FIELD is a place where local contemporary artists are able to correspond with international artists. Committed to furthering Vancouver’s visual cultural identity, FIELD wishes to lend the opportunity for success to emerging artists and curators..

GENA is an artist collective based on the unceded Coast Salish territories of xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) nations, also known as Vancouver, Canada. The group creates work that challenges how women are represented in media and imagines new ways to transcend these representations. GENA collaborates with groups on the Downtown Eastside through initiatives such as the Beauty Xchange, an event to collect and disburse cosmetics and essentials to women. GENA’s video and installation work was shown at Vancouver International Women in Film Festival, 2017 and Skylight Gallery in Vancouver, 2015.

GENERO is a Vancouver based record label and artist collective. Founded in 2014 by artist Soledad Muñoz, the project seeks to create a platform for the broader distribution of work by women and non-binary people within the sound realm.

GIRLS ROCK CAMP is a non-profit society that builds self esteem in female youth through music creation and performance. By providing workshops and technical training, we create leadership opportunities, cultivate a supportive community of peers and mentors, and encourage social change and the development of life skills.

GOOD NIGHT OUT was founded out of an awareness of the links between alcohol consumption and sexual aggression and initiated from community concerns that staff and patrons in Vancouver’s nightlife could benefit from education around how to recognize, interrupt and prevent sexual harassment and assault on nights out.

INTERSESSIONS is a Vancouver collective which aims to fight inequality and sexism in the music industry by offering DJ seminars to women and LGBTQ individuals.

MONIKER PRESS is a risograph publishing studio that works collaboratively with artists and writers to produce small editions of books, zines and print ephemera.

NEW FORMS MEDIA SOCIETY is a non-profit society and media arts organization founded in 2000 that exists to unite creative communities, push artistic and conceptual boundaries, and explore digital media as an art form. By producing the annual New Forms Festival, NFMS is dedicated to showcasing innovative media works that generate a critical and creative discourse within the public sphere.

NIMBUS SCHOOL RECORDING is a media and music school located in Vancouver. Nimbus offers programs in Audio Engineering, Music Production, Post & Game Audio Production, Video Production, Live Sound Engineering & Recording, Beats & Urban Music Production and Music Business.

NUZI is a collective founded by Betty Mulat and Samira Warsame dedicated to increasing the visibility of black woman, trans black woman and gender non-conforming poc within the Vancouver electronic music scene by providing underrepresented talent with a platform.

SOUND GIRLS supports women working in professional audio and music production by highlighting their success and providing a place for them to connect, network, and share advice and experiences.SoundGirls provides support, career development, and tools to help those working in the field advance in their career. SoundGirls works to inspire and empower young women and girls to enter the world of professional audio and music production. SoundGirls seeks to expand opportunities for girls and women in these fields and to share resources and knowledge through cooperation, collaboration, and diversity.

TUF is an intersectional female/non-binary/trans collective with headquarters in Seattle and a strong presence in digital realms.TUF members include promoters, curators, installation/visual artists, DJ’s, producers, sound engineers, writers, dancers, and designers.

VANCOUVER ART BOOK FAIR Free and open to the public, VABF is a multi-day festival of artists’ publishing featuring over one hundred local, national and international publishers, as well as a diverse line-up of programs, performances and artists’ projects. Featured artists travel to Vancouver from across Canada and the globe, and produce everything from books, magazines, zines and printed ephemera to digital, performative or other experimental forms of publication. Canada’s first art book fair, VABF is the longest-running international art book fair in the country. In 2018 the event is anticipated to attract more than 5,000 visitors from across the Greater Vancouver Area and beyond.
